Meet the Research and Development Team

Jesse Lockwood

Lead, Product Development Engineer

I started as a Co-Op at Hy-Tek in 2021, and since then I have had the pleasure of spearheading the transformation of an empty garage into the Innovation Lab. I spend every day exploring the ins and outs of our vendors’ technology and pushing it to its limits. My role allows me to combine hands-on experimentation with strategic analysis to ensure Hy-Tek stays ahead of emerging trends. I am passionate about creating tools and solutions that empower Hy-Tek and our customers to truly excel.

Nicholas Schoultheis

Product Development Engineer

I grew up in a blue-collar environment, making fishing lures, working on a beef farm, and developing a love for machinery and how things worked at a young age—experiences that ultimately led me to become an engineer. I have spent the past eight years in the material handling industry, beginning in 2018 by implementing full warehouse conveyor systems at Intelligrated for the Major Systems Team. As a Product Development Engineer at Hy-Tek, my role spans many functions across the business. Our team is responsible for vetting new and emerging technologies, testing and training on both new and existing solutions, and serving as subject matter experts for our partner technologies. At the end of the day, I truly love what I do—it feels like being a big kid playing with complex LEGOs.
