The Project Engineer works with Members of the Sales and Project Implementation Teams for the following:


• Site Visits to customer facilities to verify current conditions and evaluate those conditions as they relate to the project

• Participate in project turnovers from the Sales team

• Produce Project General Arrangement that comply with contract documents and compliance with manufacturers design standards.

• Lead project design review meetings.

• Produce various sets of drawings for use in the implementation of a project as follows:

o Mechanical equipment

o Equipment hanger or support

o Work Platforms

o Racking

o Air Piping

o Installation

o Special designs

o Implementation or Phasing

• Issuance of Purchase Orders to equipment suppliers in concert with the Project Manager.

• Support Project team during the Installation of the equipment.

• Interface with the controls supplier to properly integrate mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure compliance with the contract documents.

• Support Project team in developing changes to the project.

• Support Project team during the testing and acceptance phase of the project.

• Participate in Trade Shows, training sessions and other courses of industry educational opportunities to remain current on new and pending technologies

• Has strong knowledge of Material Handling equipment and their applications including but not limited to:

o Carton Conveyor and Sortation

o Unit Conveyor and Sortation

o Pallet Handling

o Static storage systems (Pallet Rack, Flow Racks, Shelving, Pick Modules, etc.)

o Dynamic storage systems (AS/RS, High-Rate Shuttles, VLM, Carousels, etc.)

o Good-to-Person systems

o Robotics including Automated Mobile Robots

o Ancillary equipment applied in Distribution Center operations

Requirements and Qualifications

• Proficient in the current version of Autocad

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with material handling systems application and implementation

• Overnight domestic or international travel as required to support project or company needs

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

• Proficiency in digital communications including email, instant messaging, video conferencing, webcasts and web conferences social media

• Ability to walk through and tolerate Distribution Center environments including spending time taking process and physical measurements

• Punctual, reliable, and dependable

• Works well with teams and respects other team members

• Good meeting leadership skills
